I have been treating patients for 20 years. I have a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine. This is a three year degree. The classes included acupuncture, and Chinese herbal medicine treatment of disease. Most people see acupuncture as a pain treatment, but it also treats most internal diseases very effectively.
Acupuncture school would not have been on my radar if I had not had my own health issues. I had been in chronic pain, and I had seen multiple doctors. I was advised to just learn to live with the pain. I had neuritis in my arms, thoracic outlet syndrome, and inflammation in by elbows and wrists. This was a result of sitting at a desk all day in cramped quarters, and being unable to get up and walk around. The truth is, modern medicine does not really offer long lasting relief for most types of pain. I appreciate now that I was pushed into studying natural medicine.
I have learned a lot about how to treat pain since then. I have been treating patients for 20 years now. I know what it is like to be in pain and to not get relief, or the sympathy you deserve. Acupuncture is not just a theory, for me, it is personal.
I speak fluent German, and very simple French. I lived in Berlin, and London in my thirties. I think living overseas really gives you a better perspective on your own country.
